More than a Museum!

We often proudly proclaim that WMODA is more than a museum, and this has once again been validated by two prestigious awards in the 2026 Miami New Times Readers’ Poll. WMODA has won “Best Gallery” and “Best Art Institution” in recognition of our success in exhibiting, educating, and promoting art and culture. Louise Irvine, our Executive Director & Curator, was also excited to introduce WMODA on NBC South Florida News.

We don’t just preserve the history of the Fired Arts at WMODA, we also help shape its future. Alongside our historical collections, our retail galleries actively support our nonprofit museum by displaying and selling contemporary glass and ceramic works by local and international artists.

Our Studio Collection showcases glass, ceramics, jewelry, and other media created by more than 30 artists. Our Ardmore Design Shop demonstrates that art can be a catalyst for uplifting an entire community. Our museum shops are open to all, and you do not need to purchase a museum admission ticket to shop at WMODA.

WMODA is a sanctuary for creativity, with public programming and community engagement to make art accessible to a broader audience. Recently, our Shining a Light on Connection program brought this effort to life by hosting and exhibiting Chelsea Rousso’s Unity in the Community and Amulets of Light installations, successfully inspiring hundreds of local residents to create their own fused-glass art. We continue to celebrate 2026 as the “Year of Arts and Culture” in Broward County.

This summer, WMODA is partnering with Ocean Rescue Alliance International and their 1000 Mermaids project in our Splash! Exhibition to raise awareness of Florida’s coral reef restoration initiatives. Our summer calendar is filled with family-focused workshops that promise fun for all ages, including kids, parents, grandparents, and the young at heart!

Our commitment to making art accessible doesn’t stop at our doors; WMODA actively bridges the gap between monumental public art and our intimate gallery spaces. A perfect example of this is Lloyd Goradesky’s Let Love Guide Your Way. While his spectacular 30-foot-tall kinetic weathervane inspires the community outdoors by standing proudly opposite the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, we bring the experience indoors by selling smaller versions of his artwork in our Studio Collection. We are eagerly anticipating the upcoming documentary about Lloyd’s inspiring kindness project.

In addition to our deep connection with our local community, WMODA is always delighted to welcome visitors from out of town, who often hear about us through Tripadvisor, the world’s #1 travel guidance platform. We are thrilled to have also received the Traveler’s Choice Award for 2026, in recognition of the many 5-star reviews from visitors. This is the 7th year we have received this influential award, adding momentum to our vision of making WMODA a premier cultural destination in South Florida. WMODA is now rated #2 of Things to Do in Hollywood, and our goal now is to beat the Beach! WMODA could never have earned these incredible honors without the unwavering support of our visitors, members, volunteers, and dedicated staff. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, we invite you to visit WMODA and discover the magic that makes us so much more than just a museum.
