Beautiful aromas wafted from the Studio Collection gallery during the first Candle Nerds workshop at WMODA on Saturday, October 11. All the senses were stimulated at this successful debut led by Nini Montanez and her assistant, Maria Rivera. Sixteen keen students listened as Nini explained the candle art process and helped them choose colors and scents for their one-of-a-kind creations. While their candles set, they strolled through the Hot Glass Gallery to see the Chihuly collection, guided by Lester Monzon. Everyone went home delighted with their ready-to-burn candles.

Nini’s next Swirl & Stroll workshop on Saturday, December 13, will be a Holiday Glow edition, which brings seasonal scents, color, and creativity together for a joyful celebration of light. A guided pour, a festive glow!

See – Nini’s Evolution candles were an inspiration as students decided which colored dyes to swirl together in the glass containers.

Hear – Nini’s step-by-step instructions were easy to follow and achieved great results with the assistance of Maria.

Smell – The scent choice for each candle was made from a seasonal selection of signature scents.

Taste – Guests refreshed themselves with cookies and coffee, and sipped Bellinis poured by Kimberly on their gallery tour.

Touch – A delicate touch was required, and the tactile experience of working with molten wax was fascinating.
