He has recently returned from Ghana in West Africa, where he has been spreading his message of Love and Universal Kindness. Lloyd has been commissioned to create another monumental LOVE sculpture for the city of Accra and teach local children his artistic process, working in metal.

Gator in the Bay by Lloyd Goradesky
Lloyd is well known to WMODA fans for his talks on public art, including his original Gator in the Bay, an environmental art project featuring the world’s largest alligator. Created to raise awareness for the fragile Everglades ecosystem, the Gator floated on Biscayne Bay during Art Basel for two years in 2012 and 2013.

Magic, Lloyd’s dog getting in the mood for the Ghana project!
Lloyd typically works on a massive scale, but when he created his garden-sized weathervane, Louise was able to exhibit his work at WMODA. He went on to produce smaller versions of his monumental weathervane, ranging from 8 inches to 16 inches tall, which are sold in the museum’s Studio Collection. These interactive kinetic sculptures are perfectly engineered, and the mini size has proved to be popular as a Valentine’s gift.

Lloyd's Weathervanes and Mirrors at WMODA
Nothing is wasted in Lloyd’s creative process, and he designs mirrors and other wall art with his offcuts of his iconic heart motif. The most recent addition to the museum’s Studio Collection is a spectacular collection of “his and hers” heart-shaped furniture, perfect for a garden of love.
