Who’s Who at WMODA – Lori Brown

Lori Brown, our multi-talented graphic designer, is responsible for the visual identity of WMODA on-line and in print. Most recently, she has been working on our Ardmore exhibit A Safari for the Soul and she has created some striking adverts and event signs. Lori is also the museum’s webmaster and helps Louise present all the WMODA stories in our e-newsletter and Highlights blog.

In addition to building the WMODA website, Lori also developed all the museum’s database systems to handle collections, contacts, and the shop inventory. She divides her time between the museum and a local auction house, restructuring their website for on-line auctions during COVID-19.

Lori has had an eclectic career ranging from retail management, newspaper production, to software product management. She spent part of her career in media and advertising in the Philadelphia area before relocating to Florida with her husband, Andy. She first came to WMODA as a volunteer four years ago and took on more and more responsibilities as our creative consultant when we became aware of her wide-ranging expertise.

As well as her flair for graphic design, Lori is also an artist in other media. She started making jewelry as a hobby after taking a class in precious metal clay. In a quest to add color to her silver designs, she began working with fused glass at Chelsea Rousso’s classes.

Lori has found that experimenting with glass has fueled her creativity like no other medium. She loves the transparency of the medium, the play of light, the intensity of colors, and the serendipitous happenings. In her spare time, she has undertaken fused glass commissions and sells work for her Edgehill Designs label through the WMODA museum shop.
