The striking Mega Kaleidoscope mosaic mural at WMODA was acquired by Arthur Wiener after a visit to Allison Eden Studios in Brooklyn, where he encountered her extraordinary craftsmanship using hand-cut stained-glass and mirror mosaics, created without machinery. With her luminous, kaleidoscopic compositions, Allison Eden captures fleeting optical beauty and transforms it into enduring works of art.
Measuring seven feet square, this mosaic mural is among Allison’s largest two-dimensional pieces and has been exhibited at major cultural centers in New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Miami. Each fragment is individually shaped and placed, forming a richly layered composition of Allison’s signature motifs: hearts, flowers, butterflies, diamonds, and playful confections.
Since founding her Brooklyn studio in 1993, Allison has cultivated a reputation as a leading force in bespoke glass mosaic art, with commissions spanning residential, hospitality, and commercial interiors. Working with a palette of over 1,000 glass colors, her studio produces custom, site-specific installations – each one engineered for seamless integration in its architectural setting. Her collectors include discerning private clients and notable figures, among them a celebrated installation in Malibu for Elton John.
Among her most powerful works is a transformative installation at the Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital in Utqiagvik, Alaska, where luminous mosaics bring vitality and optimism to a remote community, underscoring Allison’s belief in art as both a visual and emotional experience.
A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Allison’s creative roots in fashion continue to inform her work, as evidenced by her bold use of color, pattern, and personal expression. Her artistic vision extends beyond architectural installations into collectible design, textiles, and wearable art—each piece reflecting her signature vibrancy.
Her selection as a featured artist for the Kaleidoscope Project at Bergdorf Goodman in New York affirms her place within an influential network of creatives shaping contemporary design culture. The Kaleidoscope Project, founded in 2021, is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the creative design and furnishings industries on a global stage.
Allison also maintains a longstanding relationship with Bloomingdale’s, where her large-scale mosaic sculptures, including a dramatic jeweled perfume bottle, have captivated audiences. This extraordinary piece has been generously gifted to WMODA, enriching its growing collection of mosaic art.
