Join Dr. Daniella Chusyd, a pioneering elephantologist from Indiana University, and Louise Irvine, our Executive Director & Curator, as they say farewell to the Elephant Safari Exhibition before the herd migrates from the museum at the end of January.

An Elephant Never Forgets

The WMODA audience will never forget Dr. Chusyd’s memorable presentation about her elephant research in July of 2025. By popular demand, our visiting expert returns to the museum to share further insights into human-wildlife coexistence, drawing on her study of African elephants in the wild. She believes her investigations may shed light on how environmental factors affect human longevity, memory loss, and the aging process. Find out if it is true that an elephant never forgets!

Safari for the Soul

Louise Irvine will showcase the Ardmore ceramic artists in South Africa, who created the elephant herd for the museum’s Safari for the Soul collection. Their whimsical pottery pachyderms have migrated to fabulous furnishing fabrics and wallpaper featured in the Ardmore Design Shop at WMODA. Louise will also highlight how the Ardmore studio supports elephant conservation and orphan rehabilitation, with exhibitions such as Trunks in Trouble.

All tickets to the Elephant Migration event include museum admission, expert lectures, a guided tour of the Ardmore exhibits, and a donation to Dr. Chusyd’s important research.
