Shop Local Artists at WMODA

The mission of the WMODA Museum Shop is to showcase artists working in our community and beyond, while also generating revenue to support the museum’s educational programs. We currently present thirty talented artists from Florida and abroad who create glass art, ceramics, jewelry, and other decorative arts. You can learn more about their fascinating careers on our website and shop for their latest work in our WMODA Museum Shop and Studio Collection.

We are delighted to work closely with several local artists who blow glass at the Benzaiten Center of Creative Arts in Lake Worth Beach. Glass hearts and pumpkins by Josh Fradis are popular gifts in the WMODA Museum Shop, and we have just taken delivery of his latest marine subjects from the Benzaiten furnace, including turtles and a stingray. Rob Stern’s iconic stars and stiletto shoes continue to wow WMODA visitors, and we have many of his striking designs for sale in the Studio Collection.

We are pleased to present a selection of designs by James Clarke, one of Benzaiten’s most valued teachers of blown and cast glass. James was a student of Harvey Littleton, considered the father of the American studio glass movement. In 1978, James founded his own studio where he created perfume bottles and vessels using refined Venetian techniques. After an interval of some years, working in other media, James has been reconnecting with the furnace and reasserting his voice in the studio glass tradition.

Henry Levine exhibits his glass vessels at art fairs in Florida during the winter season and returns to his Ohio studio to create new work in the summer. He began his art career 45 years ago as a ceramic artist, then fell in love with glass blowing.  His glass art features rich colors, dynamic swirls and fossilized shell-like patterns influenced by nature.

In addition to blown, cast and carved glass art, we showcase a wide variety of fused glass art in the WMODA Museum Shop, including Chelsea Rousso’s wearable glass, draped bowls and Judaica, Scherry Donato’s Art Deco designs and Anne Orvieto’s fabulous flowers and rainbows. Lori Brown, our very own graphics and web designer, has also been working on new glass art for the WMODA Museum Shop.

Also part of the WMODA family, Luis Montanez, our facilities manager, keeps us well stocked with new designs from his Matchless Glass jewelry range and Candle Nerds collection. His wife, Nini, is enjoying great success with her Evolution candles, which recently caught the attention of Hunter Franqui from SOFLO Health.

It’s great to have Alyssa Ligmont back at WMODA with her wheel-thrown stoneware designs decorated with gorgeous glazes inspired by the tide pools at Florida’s seashore. Her functional art includes mugs, brie bakers, and chip and dip dishes, all of which are safe for microwave cooking and dishwashers. Get fired up with all the wonderful gifts for sale in the WMODA Museum Shop.
