James Clarke teaches blown and cast glass at the Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts in Lake Worth Beach. James studied under Harvey Littleton, considered to be the father of the American Studio Glass Movement, inheriting his technical rigor and his belief in glass as a dynamic, expressive medium.  In 1978, he founded James Clarke Glass Studio, where he explored perfume bottles, vessels and sculpted objects in refined glass forms. For some years, James shifted his attention to digital and photographic media, but since 2018, he has been reconnecting with the furnace and reasserting his voice in the studio glass tradition.
