Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. Let your curiosity guide you to the Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts to meet the artists and curators behind our latest exhibitions.

Meet the Curators

Louise Irvine is the resident curator at WMODA and she will be introducing her exhibitions of Ardmore Ceramic Art and Design including Safari for the Soul and the Big Five Safari with a scavenger hunt.

Sergio Gnesin is an expert in Murano glass and guest curator of the Animalia selling exhibition. He will be answering questions about his glass collection and signing copies of his book about Ermanno Nason.

Meet the Artists

Alex Meiklejohn is a potter specializing in miniatures. Watch him throw ceramic art for dollhouses on the potter’s wheel and have fun with his Tiny Treasures Trail around the museum.

Judith Rudin creates amazing dollhouses and part of her English manor dollhouse is on display at WMODA. Meet Judith and hear about her passion for interior design in miniature.

Lloyd Goradesky is a public artist whose kindness project is symbolized by his monumental weathervane Let LOVE Guide Your Way. Lloyd’s “Art from the Heart” is featured in the Studio Collection at WMODA.
